چکیده

In many real life scenarios, system reliability depends on dynamic stress-strength interference where strength degrades and stress accumulates concurrently over time. In some other cases, shocks appear at random time points, causing damage which is only effective at the instant of shock arrival. In this paper, we consider the identifiability problem of a system under deterministic strength degradation and stochastic damage due to shocks arriving according to a homogeneous Poisson process. We provide conditions under which the models are identifiable with respect to life time data only. We also consider current status data and suggest to collect additional information and discuss the issues of model identifiability under different data configurations.

Identifiability of Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Models with Covariance Restrictions

This article is concerned with identification problem of parameters of Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium Models with emphasis on structural constraints, so that the number of observable variables is equal to the number of exogenous variables. We derived a set of identifiability conditions and suggested a procedure for a thorough analysis of identification at each point in the parameters sp...

Influence of Resting Venous Blood Volume Fraction on Dynamic Causal Modeling and System Identifiability

Changes in BOLD signals are sensitive to the regional blood content associated with the vasculature, which is known as V0 in hemodynamic models. In previous studies involving dynamic causal modeling (DCM) which embodies the hemodynamic model to invert the functional magnetic resonance imaging signals into neuronal activity, V0 was arbitrarily set to a physiolog-ically plausible value to overcom...

Assessing parameter identifiability for dynamic causal modeling of fMRI data

Deterministic dynamic causal modeling (DCM) for fMRI data is a sophisticated approach to analyse effective connectivity in terms of directed interactions between brain regions of interest. To date it is difficult to know if acquired fMRI data will yield precise estimation of DCM parameters. Focusing on parameter identifiability, an important prerequisite for research questions on directed conne...

On Identifiability of Nonlinear ODE Models and Applications in Viral Dynamics

Ordinary differential equations (ODE) are a powerful tool for modeling dynamic processes with wide applications in a variety of scientific fields. Over the last 2 decades, ODEs have also emerged as a prevailing tool in various biomedical research fields, especially in infectious disease modeling. In practice, it is important and necessary to determine unknown parameters in ODE models based on e...
